I just purchased the Acer X243W 24″ flat-panel monitor for The Great Writer. It was purchased through Office Depot and included UPS shipping. The price was tremendous for such a large monitor.

The monitor’s color and contrast are truly amazing with a 3000:1 contrast ratio. No dead pixels and a very even illumination and brightness from top to bottom. All of the web sites in my portfolio render very well on this monitor. Settings are easy to figure out, which is good, because you will want to turn the brightness way down. (I have it set at 9, reduced from 60)

The monitors thickness is a little more than some flat-panel monitors at 9″, but the stand is very sturdy feeling. No installation problems and a 3 year warranty round out a nice piece of equipment.
